COVID-19 GUIDELINES

Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) is a respiratory disease caused by the SARS-CoV-2 virus. It has spread around the world and is prevalent in the United States. We are in a pandemic. The pandemic has affected all aspects of daily life, including work, travel, trade, tourism, food and financial markets. Our way of life has temporarily changed and we must meet those demands in order to move forward.

To reduce the impact of COVID-19 outbreak conditions, Atlanta Film Society (ATLFS) has set a list of guidelines to follow from CDC and OSHA recommendations. The purpose of the guidelines is to reduce specific exposure risks, sources of exposure, routes of transmission, and other unique characteristics of COVID-19 for independent contractors and employees while working at ATLFS.

For the 2022 Atlanta Film Festival + Conference, all venues will require all guests to provide the following along with a matching photo ID:

  1. Proof of full vaccination (all shots required, plus 14-day period after last dose)

  2. Recent negative COVID-19 test (no older than 72 hours), at-home tests are not acceptable unless administered on-site.

For the convenience of our guests, as an additional alternative option, the Plaza will make available 2 testing options on-site:

  • Rapid tests (BinaxNOW) will be made available for purchase for $15, to be used on-site.

These options will help create a safer experience for everyone. We are following the model of many live venues and events. In addition to our standing safety protocols, we will be evaluated from time to time against the City of Atlanta’s re-opening phase and current CDC recommendations. Note: Tests are in limited supply and not guaranteed to be in stock. Prices are offered at cost but may go up at any time.

MASKING
As of now, all festival staff/volunteers will be required to wear face masks. Wearing a mask is encouraged for attendees but not required.

AIR SYSTEM
The Plaza continues to be one of the only cinemas with bipolar ionization technology integrated into the air conditioning system to make the air our guests and staff breathe safer.

REDUCE CONTACT & SANITIZING
We continue to utilize a variety of methods from propping doors, keeping foot pulls installed to avoid needing to touch doors, not accepting cash, and offering hand sanitizer available throughout the building all to help make a safer experience.
